The German police have seized four limited-edition Bugatti Veyron ‘Les Legendes de Bugatti’ hypercars from a private storage facility in Munich.
The highly exclusive cars were seized, as part of an ongoing investigation linked to the infamous 1MDB scandal. It’s one of the biggest corruption scandals to rock Malaysia, as part of which, $4.5 billion was siphoned from the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund between 2009 and 2014.
Two Swiss-Saudi citizens are currently standing trial in the Swiss Federal Criminal Court. They are accused of embezzling $600 million.
The ‘Les Legendes de Bugatti’ editions are some of the most sought-after hypercars. Only 18 were produced in 6 unique specifications. The four cars that were seized include the Rembrandt, Black Bess, Jean-Pierre Wimille and Meo Constantini.
