Dr. Robert Willner: The Doctor Who Injected Himself with HIV-Contaminated Blood

In 1994, Willner attracted international attention by injecting himself during a press conference in Spain with blood from an HIV-positive patient. This bold act was intended to support his claim that HIV was not the cause of AIDS. Willner believed that the medical community was wrong, and he wanted to prove his point. He remained HIV-negative after the injection, which in fact supported his stance.

🔬 Willner's Alternative Theory on AIDS
Willner was a proponent of so-called "AIDS dissidents," a group of people who rejected the scientific consensus on HIV and AIDS. He asserted that AIDS was caused by factors such as poor nutrition, drug use, and other environmental factors, rather than the HIV virus. In his book, "Deadly Deception: The Proof that Sex and HIV Absolutely Do Not Cause AIDS", he outlined his beliefs and criticized the pharmaceutical industry and the use of drugs like AZT, which were prescribed to AIDS patients. Stating that it is the drug that kill the patients!

🧑‍⚕️ The Response of the medical world
Despite his spectacular actions and public appearances, Willner's theories were strongly criticized by the scientific community. Saying his claims were viewed as dangerous and misleading. His self-injection was interpreted as a stunt, stated that there were various reasons why he may not have contracted HIV, such as the amount of virus in the blood or how his body reacted.

🏴 Willner's Controversial death one year later
Dr. Robert Willner tested multiple times on AIDS after his injection with HIV and AIDS and all tests showed NEGATIVE. Wilner passed away in 1995 only one year later, officially from a “heart attack”, but his death was surrounded by controversy. Most people claimed that the circumstances of his death were not transparent and that the heart attack narrative was a lie. Most likely he was killed.
